Established in 1994, the COMPUTOONS® mission to create memorable and creative characters has continued for almost a decade of bringing characters to life for quality projects and clients. The founder Robert Terrell is a multi-talented artist and animator with a credited portfolio and background. His skill-set features a broad range of art experience from teaching high school art to make-up and mold making.

Starting in 1987, during his seven-year tenure at Will Vinton Studios in Portland, Oregon, Robert Terrell designed, created, modeled, or animated on more than half of all the projects that came through the studios. He designed characters and animated on such famous television specials and commercials including the "California Raisins" and the Domino's Pizza "Noid."

Many of the productions that Terrell was associated with as Master Character Designer, received national and international awards, including the Emmy Award winning animated special: "A Claymation Christmas Celebration."

Realizing the future of animation was in computers and primed with a knowledgeable background in traditional animation, Terrell created COMPUTOONS® to bring a new dimension to animated characters. COMPUTOONS® started with the release of the animated short films: "Nightwalk", a humorous short included on the CD-ROM "The Essential Frankenstein," and the outer space spoofs "Truckin" and "Voyager."

Nominated as 3DO's 1997 game of the year, "Captain Quazar" became a highly rated video game for 3DO and the PC market. COMPUTOONS® provided game-play actions, over three minutes of character animation for the cinematic sequences, final character design of Captain Quazar,and a ninety-second Rap music video featuring a group of robots singing and dancing their way through space with Captain Quazar.

These projects launched the company into digital animation. Today COMPUTOONS® continues to bring the public and corporate sectors quality animation and characters. Among COMPUTOONS® satisfied clients are Microsoft, Nike, Hewlett Packard, and Sierra Online.
